Introducing the Snowflakes Yowie
Introducing our new Mascot!
We are excited to be able to introduce to you, the Snowflakes in Stanthorpe’s new mascot, the Snowflakes Yowie.
The yowie was welcomed to Stanthorpe by our Mayor Tracy Dobie last week and has wasted no time visiting some of the best landmarks around our great region.
Why is the yowie in Stanthorpe?
Like so many other visitors to our great region, this friendly, fluffy white creature arrived in Stanthorpe seeking his favourite thing in the world… SNOW! During his meeting with our Mayor, she immediately directed the yowie to the Snowflakes in Stanthorpe Committee, whose members have guaranteed plenty of snow during the 2019 Snowflakes in Stanthorpe festival, in July next year. After a short consideration, and a visit to Stanthorpes newest icon The Big Thermometer to check for SNOW producing temperatures, the deal was sealed. The Yowie realized that Stanthorpe is the coldest town in Queensland, and the ONLY one with a GUARANTEE of snow, so has promised to stay on and become the Snowflakes in Stanthorpe mascot.
Tell us about the yowie..
Here is what the Snowflakes committee know about the yowie. He is friendly and he loves the cold. He is a foodie who loves adventure. He has already been spotted indulging at some of the region’s best producers and it sounds like he plans to visit many more. He is obsessed with SNOW and is going to search all parts of our region to track some down.
We know he is going to fit in just fine in the Stanthorpe community.
What is the yowie’s name?
This is where we need your help. The yowie doesn’t have a name and needs one. The Snowflakes committee is offering a weekend family-pass entry into 2019 Snowflakes in Stanthorpe, 4 tickets to an iceskating session over the weekend and some great merchandise. The best name, chosen by the Snowflakes in Stanthorpe Committee will win these prizes. (see terms and conditions on the entry page on our website)
